What to Expect from the Event

We are excited to announce the International Physical Literacy Conference (IPLC), “Moving Forward Together,” will be hosted in Winnipeg, Canada on May 7-10, 2019. Join us as leaders from across the globe share best practices and research to advance the worldwide physical literacy movement.

Every individual embarks on a physical literacy journey. By developing physical literacy across the lifespan, individuals empower themselves to be better at work, better at physical activities, have better mental health and happiness, and to better engage with their community. It is important to every sector, and each sector has a role to play in ensuring everyone has the opportunity to develop physical literacy.

Hands-on Experiences

The Active Workshop day will provide participants with Quality Physical Literacy Experiences (QPLE). This event will be hosted at the brand new Canada Games Sport For Life Centre. When registering for the workshop participants will have the opportunity to choose 4 x 90-minute QPLE’s that they will rotate thorough throughout the day. There will be 12 QPLE’s to choose from including but not limited to Physical Literacy Enriched TGfU (Teaching Games for Understanding), Circus Arts in PE & Recreation, Run, Jump, Throw, Wheel, and the SKIP Program.

Over 500 delegates from 15 + countries will be in attendance. There will be multiple opportunities outside of the conference day during socials, meet and greets, workshops, and evening specialty events to network.
