Changes in the way we live our lives have created a ‘perfect storm’ of sedentary behaviours and inactivity. In this keynote, Dr. Nalda Wainwright explores some of the consequences of this in relation to child development and the importance of developing good early motor competence for lifelong physical activity. It outlines how research into the curriculum in Wales led to cross-sector collaboration to develop a sustainable programme (SKIP-Cymru) that supports physical literacy in the crucial time of early childhood.
