While physical literacy as a concept is not new, re-emerging interest in it is widespread; in North America and the UK in particular, physical literacy is being embraced across sectors (sport, health, education) that have traditionally been siloed. At the same time, evidence for its efficacy has lagged behind enthusiasm for the concept. In this talk, I discuss the potential for physical literacy to bridge many fields and practices while outlining what must be done at policy, practice, and research levels.
